Wall Street rallies on trade talks: Yesterday it was made public that the US and China agreed to resume trade talks next month in Washington. As a result, the DJ30 leapt more than 1.4%, the SPX500 climbed 1.3% and the NSDQ100 finished 1.75% higher. Tech stocks led the rally, as Amazon, Facebook and Google each climbed more than 2%.
Crypto market mostly higher: 7 of the top 10 cryptocurrencies registered gains over the past 24 hours, while the other 3 were in the red. At the time of writing, Bitcoin was up around 1%, trading above the $10,700 mark.
Asian markets seen higher: Markets in the East were in the green this morning, as the JPN225, HKG50 and China50 indices were all higher at the time of writing.
Volatility expected for CAD: Employment Change and Unemployment Rate reports are due in Canada at 12:30 GMT, potentially impacting the Canadian Dollar.
Oil set for weekly gains: After yesterday hitting price levels not seen in more than a month, oil prices eventually closed only slightly higher. This morning, prices continued to climb, and the black gold will most likely finish the week with overall gains.
Earnings season ends with a bang: Lululemon and DocuSign reported earnings yesterday after the bell, both beating market expectations. As a result, DocuSign surged more than 22% and Lululemon climbed more than 4% in after-hours trading.
Europe opens lower: The UK100 opened 7 points lower, the GER30 was down 2 points and the FRA40 opened 4 points lower.
