Wall Street continues to decline
Another day of losses yesterday on Wall Street, as the DJ30, SPX500 and NSDQ100 indices registered declines of 1.2% or more. The recent losses are attributed to the continuing drop in the 10-year treasury bond yield. The tech sector remained lower, as Google, Facebook, Microsoft and Amazon each declined at least 1%.

Cryptos remain in the red: The cryptocurrency market stayed on its negative trajectory over the past 24 hours, as all top 10 cryptos were seen lower at the time of writing. Bitcoin fell around 0.4% while Litecoin led the top 10 with losses of around 3%

Hong Kong shutdown impacts Asian markets: The ongoing protests in Hong Kong, which resulted in hundreds of cancelled flights and the Chinese government saying it might intervene, weighed on markets in the East this morning. The HKG50 index fell by more than 1.5%, joined by the JPN225 index. In contrast, the China50 index was seen slightly higher.

Gold continues to climb: The precious metal remained higher this morning, as gold surpasses its 6-year high. The recent uptick is attributed to more investors hedging their investments with safe-haven assets in light of the recent volatility in global markets.

Volatility expected for USD: Monthly CPI reports will be published in the US at 12:30 GMT, potentially generating volatility for the greenback.
